Ghanaian Afropop singer Camidoh has shared insights into a personal experience that reshaped how he presents himself, following a past misunderstanding with dancehall heavyweight Shatta Wale.
Speaking in an interview with Kwaku Adu Kumi on Asempa FM on Saturday, April 11, the “Sugarcane” hitmaker revealed that the incident served as a turning point in his personal and professional life.
Camidoh explained that, prior to the issue, he often wore his good upbringing and humility openly. However, after the disagreement with Shatta Wale, he realized that not everyone may understand or appreciate such traits in the same way.
According to him, the situation pushed him to become more reserved, choosing to keep certain aspects of his background and personality private rather than putting everything out in the public space.
“I learned to keep my good and humble upbringing to myself,” he indicated, suggesting that the experience helped him better navigate the complexities of the music industry and human relationships.
The singer also disclosed that he later took steps to mend things by apologising to Shatta Wale.

Reflecting on the aftermath, Camidoh admitted that he came to see a different side of the dancehall star.
He noted that despite the earlier tension, he eventually realised that Shatta Wale was actually kind towards him, a perspective that helped ease any lingering resentment.
Camidoh’s remarks underscore the importance of growth, understanding, and emotional intelligence in an industry often marked by strong personalities and public scrutiny. His experience serves as a reminder that conflicts can offer valuable lessons and lead to better relationships when handled with maturity.
