Lady Dentaa Amoateng Crowned Global Africa Woman Of The Year

International entrepreneur, cultural diplomat, and diaspora leader Lady Dentaa Amoateng MBE has been crowned the 2025 Global Africa Woman of the Year by the Most Influential People of African Descent (MIPAD), a prestigious initiative recognised by the United Nations.

The award was presented during a glamorous ceremony at The Library in Lagos on December 21, 2025, as part of the inaugural Lagos Diaspora Experience and MIPAD End-of-Year Awards & Celebration.

The event brought together Africa’s top influencers from business, entertainment, governance, culture, and innovation, marking the first time MIPAD’s high-profile recognition moved beyond its traditional New York setting alongside the UN General Assembly.

Lady Dentaa was celebrated alongside an elite group of honorees, including global music superstar Davido, MTN Nigeria CEO Karl Toriola, luxury entrepreneur Alexander Amosu, and multifaceted artist Banky Wellington.

The recognition aligns with the extended United Nations International Decade for People of African Descent (2025–2034), emphasising advancement in recognition, justice, and development for people of African descent worldwide.

Speaking at the ceremony, Lady Dentaa Amoateng MBE expressed profound gratitude:

“To receive this honour in Nigeria among such distinguished and influential leaders is deeply meaningful. It speaks to the power of collaboration across Africa and the diaspora, and to the importance of African women taking their rightful place in shaping global narratives, policy, and opportunity.”

The award highlights her decades-long dedication to fostering diaspora connections, empowering communities, and promoting African excellence.

As founder and CEO of GUBA Enterprise – encompassing the renowned GUBA Awards, GUBA Foundation, and related initiatives – Lady Dentaa has built platforms that mobilise diaspora capital, celebrate achievement, and strengthen economic and cultural ties between Africa and its global communities.

Her impact extends far beyond awards:

▪︎ Appointed a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 2016 for services to UK-Ghana relations and diaspora engagement.

▪︎ Recognised as a Humanitarian Service Laureate at the Ghana Peace Awards in 2017.

▪︎ Previously honoured by MIPAD in the Business and Entrepreneurship category (Class of 2018).
