The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has issued a stern caution to all holders of gold buying licences regarding their failure to submit required monthly transaction reports.
In Compliance Notice No. GOLDBOD/2026/04, dated February 26, 2026, GoldBod noted that multiple licensees have breached their obligations by not providing these mandatory reports, as stipulated in their licence terms and conditions.
Licensed operators must submit comprehensive monthly reports detailing gold purchases—including quantity, purity, value—and any related activities for the period. The reports covering January 2026 transactions were due no later than February 15, 2026, yet several entities missed this deadline.

GoldBod warned that persistent non-compliance may result in the revocation of licences and qualifies as an offence under Section 63 of the Ghana Gold Board Act, 2025 (Act 1140).
The board reaffirmed its dedication to strictly upholding regulations across the gold trading industry, stressing the critical need for transparency, accountability, and sound governance to support the sector’s integrity.
Licensees are urged to comply immediately to avoid further regulatory action.
