“Ato Forson Will Be Mahama’s Successor” – Apostle Bohyeba

Finance Minister Cassiel Ato Forson | Apostle Olam Bohyeba

Ghanaian preacher Apostle Olam Bohyeba has declared that Cassiel Ato Forson will succeed John Dramani Mahama as Ghana’s president, a prophecy delivered Monday on Angel FM’s morning show hosted by Ohemaa Woyeje.

The clergyman left little room for ambiguity in his prediction, framing the current Mahama administration as a precursor to a Forson presidency rather than an end in itself.

“When Mahama ends his presidency, it will be Ato Forson, and no one else,” he reportedly declared — a statement bold enough to ensure it travels well beyond the studio walls of Angel FM.

The timing is notable. Mahama’s administration is still in its early stages, yet Bohyeba’s remarks feed into an already simmering public conversation about who might eventually lead the NDC after the president’s constitutional term ends. Such early speculation says as much about the political appetite for succession narratives in Ghana as it does about any actual party planning.

Dr. Forson, who currently serves as Finance Minister, has emerged as one of the more prominent figures in Mahama’s government, largely on the strength of his stewardship of the country’s economic policies and fiscal reforms. That visibility likely makes him a natural target for this kind of prophetic speculation, whether or not it reflects any internal party consensus.

Political prophecies of this nature have become something of a recurring feature in Ghanaian public life, often stirring debate among party loyalists, political analysts, and ordinary citizens alike. Bohyeba’s prediction is likely to follow that same pattern, sparking conversation about the future direction of both the NDC and the nation.

As of now, neither Dr. Ato Forson nor NDC officials have issued any public response to the prophecy.
