For the first pricing window of August 2026 (effective about August 1), diesel and gasoline prices have gone up in Ghana.
The National Petroleum Authority’s (NPA) benchmark retail prices, which OMCs will use, are listed below:
- Super Petrol: GH¢14.53 per litre (up around 9.4%, or GH¢1.25, from GH¢13.28 in late July).
- Diesel: GH¢16.97 per litre (up around 18.3% or GH¢2.62 from GH¢14.35).• LPG (for comparison): GH¢11.06 per kilogram (up about 8.5%).
A weaker Ghanaian cedi, increased pricing for petroleum products abroad, and other market conditions are reflected in these floors.
Depending on the Oil Marketing Company (OMC), location, margins, and premiums, actual pump prices may be higher.

Super: Floor price of GH¢14.53 per liter
Diesel: GH¢18.77 per liter
RON 95: GH¢17.77 per liter
GOIL (starting in late July):
Super XP: GH¢14.98 per liter
Diesel XP: GH¢17.71 per liter
Super XP 95: GH¢17.30 per liter

Even higher averages were predicted by organizations like COPEC (e.g., fuel about GH¢15–16+, diesel maybe GH¢18–19+ in certain cases).
This is the second straight increase in recent weeks.
Pre-August levels were lower in late July, with gasoline for GH¢14–16 and diesel at GH¢15–17, depending on the station.
