President John Dramani Mahama has embarked on a landmark nationwide tour of all 16 regions of Ghana, signalling a hands-on approach to governance as his administration pushes forward with its ambitious “Resetting Ghana” agenda.
The tour, officially christened the “Resetting Ghana Tour,” began on Tuesday, March 18, 2026, with the Bono Region serving as the launch pad for what promises to be a sweeping engagement exercise across the country.
The President’s first major stop was Dormaa Ahenkro, where he performed a sod-cutting ceremony for a 24-hour economy model market — a flagship project under his administration’s 24-hour economy policy, designed to extend commercial activity beyond traditional trading hours and inject fresh momentum into local commerce.
Mahama was accompanied by regional ministers, local government officials, and a host of key stakeholders as the delegation moved through a series of site visits, community interactions, and media engagements.
Beyond assessing the progress of ongoing development projects and infrastructure, the tour carries a deeper political and social purpose. It is designed to bring the presidency directly to the people — engaging citizens, traditional rulers, and grassroots communities in candid conversations about national development.
The President is expected to gather real-time feedback on government policy initiatives, provide updates on key national programmes, and reinforce the bond between his administration and ordinary Ghanaians in every corner of the country.

Following the Bono Region leg, President Mahama is scheduled to visit the Afram Plains on March 21, where another sod-cutting ceremony is planned. While a full itinerary for the remaining regions is yet to be publicly detailed, the tour is expected to roll out progressively across all 16 regions.
The “Resetting Ghana Tour” is a physical manifestation of Mahama’s broader governing philosophy — one anchored in sustainable growth, inclusive development, and economic recovery.
Since returning to office, the President has kept a sharp focus on reviving key sectors including agriculture, infrastructure, and the 24-hour economy, framing his administration’s mission as one of restoration and renewal.
The nationwide tour now takes that message directly to the streets, the palaces, and the marketplaces of Ghana.
