Ama K. Abebrese Lands Role In A New Hollywood Film

Ama K. Abebrese

Ghanaian actress Ama K. Abebrese is headed to the big screen again — this time as part of the ensemble cast of ‘Boyz Trip’, a highly anticipated action-comedy currently in production in Cape Town, South Africa.

Directed by Kyle Scott, the film follows four college friends whose boys’ getaway quickly unravels into a whirlwind of chaos and adventure. Cameras began rolling in early March 2026, and excitement around the project has been building steadily ever since.

Leading the charge are Rome Flynn, Algee Smith, Desi Banks, and South African fan favourite Siv Ngesi — a lineup that signals the film’s ambition to bridge American and African star power under one roof. Rounding out the cast alongside Abebrese are a slate of well-known faces from the continent’s screen industry: Ama Qamata and Thapelo Mokoena, both recognised from Netflix’s Blood and Water; Bohang Moeko of Isono; Alessandra Fuller, known for Green River Killer; and Francisca Aronsson of Perra Vida.

For Abebrese — celebrated internationally for her role in the Academy Award-nominated Beasts of No Nation — the casting is another marker of her growing presence on the global stage. She took to social media to share her excitement about joining the project, and her enthusiasm appears well-founded: Boyz Trip boasts a genuinely international ensemble that few productions of its kind can match.

The film is being produced under Kyle Scott’s KeyScott Entertainment banner, alongside Canyon View Media and Autumn Bailey Entertainment. No release date has been confirmed yet, but with its blend of comedy, action, and cross-continental talent, Boyz Trip is already shaping up as one to watch.
