Ghanaian preacher Prophet Roja has sparked widespread discussion after predicting that Ghana could transform into a highly developed nation similar to Dubai within the next 20 to 30 years.
Speaking during an appearance on Angel TV’s “Angel With Ohemaa Woyeje” on Tuesday, the prophet claimed he had seen in the spiritual realm that massive oil deposits exist beneath Tema.
According to him, the discovery and eventual exploitation of the resource could dramatically change the country’s economic fortunes and infrastructure development.
Prophet Roja stated that the anticipated oil wealth would position Ghana among the world’s most attractive and modern nations, drawing comparisons to Dubai’s rapid transformation from a modest trading hub into a global business and tourism center.
However, the prophecy also came with a controversial warning. The preacher alleged that residents of Tema could eventually be displaced to pave the way for large-scale oil exploration and development projects in the area.
According to him, the transformation process would involve major infrastructural changes and industrial expansion that could alter the current landscape of the city.
Some Ghanaians has have expressed excitement over the possibility of greater national prosperity, while others questioned the implications of potential displacement of residents and the long-term environmental impact of intensified oil drilling.

Tema, one of Ghana’s key industrial cities, already plays a major role in the country’s economy due to its harbour, manufacturing sector, and strategic location. Ghana’s oil industry currently operates mainly in the Western Region, where commercial oil production began in 2010.
