Matilda Asante-Asiedu, the Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, has been named the 2026 Corporate Personality of the Year at the Ghana Women of the Year Honours, organised by Glitz Africa — a recognition that cements her standing as one of the most influential figures in the country’s banking and financial landscape.
The award, presented at the 11th edition of the annual honours event on May 8, 2026, at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra, celebrates her exceptional contributions to Ghana’s central banking system, her leadership within the Bank of Ghana, and her sustained advocacy for women-led businesses and financial inclusion across the country.
Mrs. Asante-Asiedu has been among the most vocal champions of women’s economic empowerment in recent weeks, actively encouraging female entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises to formalise their operations, build credible financial identities, and position themselves to access credit and expand beyond local markets. Her message has resonated widely at a time when financial inclusion remains a critical development priority for Ghana.
