FIFA has announced a blockbuster entertainment lineup to mark the opening of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with global pop superstar Katy Perry set to headline the pre-match ceremony ahead of the United States’ first match at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, on June 12.

Perry will be joined by an impressive roster of artists for the ceremony preceding the United States’ clash against Paraguay, with rappers Future, Lisa and Tyla, Brazilian singer Anitta, Nigerian singer-rapper Rema, and DJ Sanjoy all confirmed to perform at the iconic Los Angeles venue.

The announcement was made by FIFA on Friday night, covering entertainment plans for the opening matches across all three host nations — the United States, Mexico, and Canada — in what will be the most expansive World Cup in history, featuring an expanded field of 48 nations.

The festivities begin a day earlier in Mexico City, where the tournament’s opening match between Mexico and South Africa at the legendary Azteca Stadium on June 11 will be accompanied by a vibrant celebration of Latin music and culture.

That ceremony will feature an extraordinary lineup including singers Alejandro Fernández, Danny Ocean, Lila Downs, and Belinda, reggaeton icon J Balvin, celebrated cumbia group Los Ángeles Azules, and iconic Mexican rock band Maná — alongside South African singer Tyla, who is set to appear at both ceremonies.

Full entertainment details for matches hosted in Canada are expected to follow as FIFA continues its pre-tournament announcements.
