The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, has held a courtesy meeting with a delegation from MOONDOOG Technologies at the Ministry, with discussions centred on how artificial intelligence could be deployed to widen public access to government services.
The delegation was led by MOONDOOG Technologies’ Chief Executive Officer, Isaac Ayitey Chris-Quaye, who was joined by the company’s Operations Manager, Desmond Ametefe of Neurahomes. The team pitched a proposal for a Ghana AI Citizen Assistant — an AI-driven digital platform conceived to simplify how citizens interact with government institutions and to make public services easier to reach.
During the engagement, the delegation walked the Ministry through an early-stage prototype of the platform, showing how it could help citizens locate information, move more efficiently through government processes, and generally lift the standard of digital service delivery across the public sector.
The proposal taps directly into Ghana’s broader digital transformation agenda, which is built around harnessing emerging technologies to strengthen governance, sharpen public service delivery, and deepen citizen engagement. Should the AI Citizen Assistant move from concept to reality, it could function as a single access point for information and services spanning multiple government agencies — cutting down the friction citizens currently face while advancing both efficiency and inclusivity in service delivery.

The meeting also underscored the increasing weight the private sector is pulling in Ghana’s digital innovation space, with locally tailored AI solutions emerging as a growing feature of that contribution.
The Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations says it will continue engaging technology companies and other stakeholders as it pushes forward policies and initiatives aimed at establishing Ghana as one of Africa’s leading digital economies.
Representatives from several institutions were associated with the engagement, including the National Information Technology Agency (NITA), Ghana Domain Name Registry, Ghana Meteorological Agency, the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC), Ghana Digital Centres, the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT, the Cyber Security Authority, the Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications, the National Communications Authority, MTN Ghana, Mohammed Adams Sukparu, and the Ghana Education Service.
