
At the Financial Architecture Summit 2026 in Accra, Samuel Nartey George (MP), Ghana’s Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, and Dr. Johnson Pandit Asiamah, Governor of the Bank of Ghana, met with regulators, financial institutions, fintech leaders, development partners, and industry stakeholders.
This summit’s theme was:
“Central Banking, Digital Finance, and the New Architecture of Ghana’s Financial Future: Innovation for Stability.” The conference served as a forum for high-level conversations about creating a trustworthy, inclusive, and resilient digital financial ecosystem.
Samuel Nartey George emphasized throughout the discussion how digital infrastructure and contemporary financial services are inextricably linked, emphasizing that strong cybersecurity, dependable connectivity, trusted digital identities, and interoperability are essential for sustainable financial innovation.
“Regulation must advance at the pace of trust, but innovation must advance at the pace of opportunity.”
The Minister stated that public trust is still the foundation of a successful digital finance ecosystem, even as technology continues to open up new opportunities.

He reiterated the Ministry’s dedication to inclusive digital transformation and stressed that, in the end, technology must enhance residents’ lives.
“At the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, we assess digital transformation using a straightforward metric: does it improve a typical life?”
According to Samuel Nartey George, Ghana’s next stage of digital and financial transformation should be shaped by three essential pillars: cyber resilience, inclusive-by-design platforms, and interoperability.
In order to ensure that innovation provides significant benefit, he urged financial institutions, technological partners, and innovators to provide safe, open, and accessible solutions.
