NPP parliamentary aspirant Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah has warned his political rival, Nana Kwasi Boadu, against using wealth and alleged intimidation as a means of influencing the upcoming NPP elections in the Afigya Sekyere East Constituency.
Speaking on Okay FM during an interview with Nana Romeo on Thursday, Okatakyie alleged that Nana Kwasi Boadu has wielded significant influence in the constituency, to the extent that people were afraid to challenge him whenever he expressed his views.
“If Nana Kwasi Boadu thinks he is wealthy and can intimidate me to win the upcoming NPP elections, he should remember Mansa Musa was the richest man in world history but what happened to him afterwords?,” he said.
Okatakyie used the historical figure of Mansa Musa as an example to caution against relying on wealth and power, arguing that material wealth and political influence do not last forever.
He alleged that Nana Kwasi Boadu had effectively become “the law” in Afigya Sekyere East, claiming that when he spoke, few people were willing to challenge him.
According to Okatakyie, however, the situation can change through peaceful political participation.
“By peace, the tyranny dynasty by Nana Boadu will be brought down,” he stated.
His comments were made in the context of his allegations that his political competitor was intimidating him and some of his supporters as they prepare for the upcoming NPP internal elections.

Okatakyie maintained that he would not be intimidated and suggested that the contest should be decided through a peaceful and democratic process.
