Céline Dion Ends Four-Year Absence With A Big Concert Comeback?

Céline Dion is reportedly set to make a highly anticipated concert comeback later this year, having last performed on stage in March 2020 — just before the Covid-19 pandemic brought the world to a standstill.

The return of the best-selling Canadian musician of all time appears to have been telegraphed through a series of teaser posters that surfaced on the streets of Paris, bearing the titles of some of her most iconic songs. It has now been officially confirmed.

The 57-year-old will make her return four years after being diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS). According to French-Canadian newspaper La Presse, Dion is preparing a twice-weekly residency at Paris La Défense Arena, scheduled for September and October.

Her last headline performance came on 8 March 2020 in Newark, New Jersey, after which her Courage World Tour was cut short by the global pandemic.

Two years later, in 2022, she received her SPS diagnosis — a rare and incurable neurological disorder that severely affects mobility and the ability to sing — and subsequently cancelled all remaining tour dates.

Her courageous battle with the condition was brought to wider public attention through the 2024 documentary I Am: Céline Dion. Despite the challenges, Dion has made select public appearances in recent years.

At the 2024 Grammy Awards, she received a rousing standing ovation, and later that year delivered an emotional stage performance at the Paris Olympics, singing Édith Piaf’s Hymne à L’Amour from atop the Eiffel Tower — a moment that moved millions around the world.
