GoldBod Jewellery, a subsidiary of the Ghana Gold Board, has announced the launch of its first-ever flagship event, Heritage Village — a celebration of Ghanaian craftsmanship, innovation, and the growing value being added to the country’s local gold and jewellery industry.
The event is set to run from March 26 to 28, 2026, at Akwaaba Park, Airport, in the Greater Accra Region, with doors open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Organisers promise an experience that goes well beyond a conventional exhibition, offering visitors something far more immersive and engaging.
Speaking on the vision behind the event, Gertrude Emefa Donkor Esq., Managing Director of GoldBod Jewellery, described Heritage Village as a cultural journey that will trace the full lifecycle of Ghana’s natural resources — with gold at the centre — from raw extraction through to refined, culturally inspired jewellery pieces that meet international standards.

The event will shine a spotlight on Made-in-Ghana excellence, drawing attention to creative design, responsible sourcing, and the homegrown talent shaping the country’s jewellery and fabrication industry.
The initiative is part of GoldBod’s broader push to drive local value addition within the gold sector. In a related development, the organisation recently engaged the Jewellers and Fabricators Association, confirming that from March 2026, licensed jewellers will be able to purchase refined gold directly from GoldBod in standardised weights — 7.75g, 15.5g, and 31g — a move aimed at supporting industry formalisation and encouraging responsible practices.

The announcement arrives in the heart of Ghana Month, with GoldBod Jewellery urging citizens to “wear your roots boldly” by choosing authentic, locally crafted gold pieces that speak to national pride and cultural heritage.
While full programme details and admission information are yet to be officially released, the event is expected to be open to the public, with organisers keen to draw wide attendance and rally support behind local artisans.
