Thomas Partey appeared before Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London on Friday, March 13, 2026, where two additional counts of rape were formally added to his ongoing legal case. The Ghanaian international and Villarreal midfielder was released on bail following the preliminary hearing.
The 32-year-old was not required to attend in person. Through his barrister, Emma Fenn, Partey indicated he intends to plead not guilty to both new charges. The allegations relate to claims that he raped a woman twice on the same day in December 2020 — involving a fourth alleged complainant in the overall case.
The matter has been transferred to Southwark Crown Court, with the next hearing set for April 10, 2026, which Partey is required to attend. His bail conditions include no contact with the alleged victim and an obligation to notify authorities of any change of address or international travel plans.

The new charges follow an earlier set filed in July 2025, shortly after Partey left Arsenal. Those charges comprise five counts of rape involving two women and one count of sexual assault against a third, with alleged incidents spanning 2021 to 2022. He has pleaded not guilty to all of them. A full trial on those charges is scheduled for November 2026 at Southwark Crown Court.
The additional counts emerged after the initial charges became public, following a Metropolitan Police investigation. Partey joined Villarreal in August 2025 and has continued playing.
On the same day as the hearing, he came on as a substitute and was reported to have made a positive contribution on the pitch. The case remains ongoing. Partey has maintained his innocence throughout.
