The Women of Valour initiative launched its 2026 edition on 17 February 2026 at the residence of the British High Commissioner in Accra. The gathering united policymakers, media figures, activists, survivors, and advocates in a powerful display of women’s resilience and leadership.
Founded and organised by renowned Ghanaian media personality Nana Aba Anamoah, the platform kicked off a global campaign honouring women who embody courage, determination, and lasting impact through their stories and actions.
This year’s theme, “The Pursuit of Fearlessness”, framed inspiring discussions on empowerment, personal growth, and triumph over challenges. Survivors courageously shared experiences of abuse and recovery, fostering a space of solidarity, strength, and collective healing. The launch focused on “Creating Safe Spaces”, exploring how media, activists, and policymakers can collaborate to protect women and girls.
The event serves as a key prelude to the main Women of Valour London 2026 celebration, set for 7 March 2026 in London. This international gathering will bring together global leaders, change-makers, and honourees to amplify women’s voices on a world stage.
Since its start as a Ghanaian initiative, Women of Valour has evolved into a respected global platform for leadership and storytelling. Each year, it spotlights women driving positive change across sectors, bridging generational experiences, and inspiring fearless pursuit of goals.

Attendees highlighted the value of shared narratives, inclusive dialogue, and ongoing advocacy to address persistent barriers facing women. The initiative continues to serve as more than an event—it’s a movement for mentorship, empowerment, and real-world action.
The London 2026 edition has secured strong backing, with the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) announced as the headline sponsor. This partnership reflects a mutual dedication to advancing women’s leadership, economic inclusion, and social progress across Africa and its diaspora.
Media personalities, hosts, and speakers reinforced Women of Valour’s role as a catalyst for meaningful change, encouraging women everywhere to embrace their stories and lead boldly.
