Justin Kodua Frimpong, General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and commonly known as JFK, has called on party agents and polling station executives to register all eligible voters without discrimination — including members of the opposition.
Speaking on Wontumi FM/TV, the pro-NPP media outlet owned by Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako, Kodua Frimpong made the remarks in the context of the party’s ongoing membership and voter registration exercises. He was unequivocal: no one presenting themselves at an NPP polling station should be turned away, regardless of their political affiliation.
“Even if Asiedu Nketia comes to your polling station to register his name, you should do it,” he said, referencing Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), as an example of someone who should not be barred.
Kodua Frimpong stressed that the NPP would not engage in the kind of voter obstruction that has, at times, marred registration exercises in Ghana’s political history — where opponents have occasionally been blocked or intimidated from registering. His remarks appear aimed at reinforcing the party’s commitment to electoral integrity while countering any perception that the NPP is seeking to suppress participation.
The Hidden Reality Of Doing Business In Ghana
As the party’s General Secretary and chief spokesperson, Kodua Frimpong’s push for an open and inclusive registration process reflects a broader effort to position the NPP as a defender of clean electoral practices ahead of future elections.
