R&B singer Ray J has been hospitalised in Las Vegas following his MMA bout against YouTuber Supa Hot Fire — with doctors now assessing whether the 45-year-old sustained a concussion during the contest.
According to reports, the One Wish hitmaker — born William Ray Norwood Jr. — checked himself into a medical facility approximately two hours after Saturday’s fight and remained there for 48 hours. A source close to the singer revealed that his heart rate had also slowed noticeably in the aftermath of the encounter, and that he was placed on bed rest and prescribed medication typically used for patients at risk of heart failure.
The Fight and Its Fallout
The match was staged at Adin Ross’ UFC Apex and brought together Ray J and Supa Hot Fire — real name DeWayne DeShawn Stevenson — in what quickly became a viral moment. The contest was halted in the second round after Supa Hot Fire, 35, landed the knockout blow that sent Ray J stumbling into the ropes before collapsing to the canvas. The singer appeared visibly disoriented as he rose to his feet, eventually settling onto a stool before the referee stepped in to wave off the fight.

In the immediate aftermath, Ray J appeared to suggest the outcome was not what had been agreed — seemingly accusing his opponent of reneging on an arrangement to stage the result.
The hospitalisation arrives against a deeply concerning personal backdrop. Just months ago, Ray J went public with alarming claims about his health following a reported stint in hospital with pneumonia and heart complications.
In a January Instagram video, the singer told followers bluntly: “2027 is definitely a wrap for me — that’s what they say,” before adding, “And damn, when it’s all done, burn me, don’t bury me.”
With medical staff now monitoring his condition following the knockout, concerns over the singer’s long-term wellbeing appear more pressing than ever.
