MTN Group Rolls Out New Entertainment Platform, MTN One TV

MTN Group has launched the rollout of MTN One TV, a new entertainment offering built to make digital video more accessible and adaptable for customers across its African markets. The platform arrives as part of MTN’s Ambition 2030 strategy, combining local storytelling, live channels, and international programming with viewing options shaped by how customers across the continent actually access and pay for entertainment.

At the heart of MTN One TV is choice. Viewing models will vary by market and may include free-to-view content, ad-supported streaming, pay-as-you-watch access, and traditional subscriptions. Where available, customers will also be able to pay using airtime, Mobile Money, and other locally supported payment channels, an approach aimed squarely at the cost and access barriers that have long limited streaming uptake in many African markets.

MTN frames the offering as more than a consumer product. By linking content to its broader scale in connectivity, payments, and digital services, the company says MTN One TV opens new opportunities for African creators, broadcasters, advertisers, and partners to reach wider audiences. The goal, according to MTN, is to strengthen content discovery and support sustainable growth across the continent’s digital entertainment ecosystem.

The platform sits at the intersection of MTN’s three strategic pillars: Connectivity, Fintech, and Digital Infrastructure, and is positioned within the Group’s wider push to build digital experiences that drive participation in Africa’s digital economy.

“Entertainment is increasingly becoming an important gateway to digital participation,” said Selorm Adadevoh, MTN Group Chief Commercial, Strategy and Transformation Officer. “Through MTN One TV, we are leveraging the scale of our connectivity, fintech, and digital capabilities to make relevant content more accessible while creating new opportunities for Africa’s creative and digital economies. This is aligned with our ambition to deliver digital solutions for Africa’s progress.”

MTN One TV is being introduced market by market, with the pace and shape of rollout reflecting local needs, existing services, and partnership opportunities in each country. Over time, MTN plans to unify video capabilities, content partnerships, and customer experiences under the MTN One TV brand, building toward a more consistent offering across its footprint.

The launch reflects MTN’s continued shift beyond pure connectivity, as the company blends entertainment, payments, and digital services into offerings designed around African consumer needs, advancing its Ambition 2030 vision of expanding access to digital entertainment across the continent.
