Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has heaped praise on Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz, describing him as the ideal man to lead Ghana’s national team at the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Speaking during a visit to the Black Stars camp, Ablakwa commended the Portuguese tactician for his leadership, discipline, and the positive impact he has had on the team since taking charge.

“We couldn’t have asked for any better coach,” the minister stated, expressing confidence in Queiroz’s ability to guide Ghana to greater success on the world stage.

Ablakwa’s remarks come at a time when the Black Stars have earned widespread praise for their performances at the tournament, including a hard-fought draw against England that boosted the team’s hopes of progressing to the knockout stages.

The Foreign Affairs Minister also used the opportunity to encourage the players and technical staff to remain focused and united as they prepare for their remaining matches. He assured the team of the government’s support and the backing of millions of Ghanaians both at home and abroad.

Carlos Queiroz, who has previously managed national teams including Portugal, Iran, and Egypt, has been credited with bringing tactical discipline and renewed confidence to the Black Stars setup.

With Ghana still in contention for a place in the Round of 32, Ablakwa expressed optimism that the team can continue making the nation proud and achieve a memorable run at the World Cup.
