Award-winning Ghanaian journalist Erastus Asare Donkor has publicly called on the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Christian Tetteh Yohuno to investigate allegations involving a Chief Inspector of Police over an alleged unauthorized commercial development in Kumasi.
In a post shared on social media, the veteran journalist alleged that the police officer had placed container shops in an unauthorized area at Asafo in the Ashanti Regional capital and rented them out to prostitutes.
“The IGP should be interested in the Chief Insp who has put container shops in an unauthorized area at Asafo and rented them out to prostitutes in Kumasi. Police must be role models of the law,” Erastus Asare Donkor wrote.
The allegations have generated discussion on social media, with many users urging the Ghana Police Service to investigate the matter thoroughly. Others stressed the importance of due process, noting that the claims should be independently verified before any conclusions are reached.
