Jaafar Jackson, the late Michael Jackson’s nephew, is working on Supermax, an action thriller from Amazon MGM Studios and Miramax that has already made over $1 billion.
Jaafar joins AnnaSophia Robb and Will Smith, have previously been confirmed. Although the specifics of his part have not yet been made public, it is believed to be crucial to the main plot of the movie, which centers on two FBI agents (Smith & Robb) looking into an apparently impossible murder that takes place inside the impenetrable walls of a maximum-security prison.

David Gordon Green is the director of this massive thriller, and David Weil and David J. Rosen wrote the screenplay. Smith and Adam Fishbach are producing for Westbrook Studios with the help of The Picture Company partners Andrew Rona and Alex Heineman.
Associate producer Natalie Laine Williams will co-executive produce with scribes Weil and Rosen. Along with James Lassiter and Miguel Melendez for Westbrook Studios, executive producers include Miramax CEO Jonathan Glickman, President of Film Alexandra Loewy, COO Thom Zadra, and SVP Spencer Ela.
The agreement between Miramax and Amazon MGM, which is finalizing a deal for global distribution rights, was mediated by CAA Media Finance. Supermax will stream on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories worldwide.
Meanwhile, the project will shortly release more verified details. It is anticipated that filming would start in the middle of August 2026. Will Smith will portray FBI agent Rex in this scene, while Robb will play his colleague.
The movie will only be available on Prime Video; a theatrical release is not anticipated.
