Baba Sadiq Abdulai Abu, a media and creative entrepreneur who has been named Ghana’s High Commissioner-designate to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, is one of the envoys.
The government’s efforts to improve Ghana’s diplomatic representation and expand bilateral ties with nations deemed crucial to the nation’s political, economic, and strategic interests have advanced with the commissioning.

Following the recall of Ghana’s then-High Commissioner, Mohammed Baba Jamal Ahmed, who later chose to run in the Ayawaso East parliamentary by-election, President John Dramani Mahama confirmed Baba Sadiq’s appointment to Nigeria.
Before going into front-line politics, Baba Sadiq had established a solid reputation in Ghana’s media, entertainment, and communications sectors. This position marked a significant change for him.
In the general elections of 2024, he was the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Okaikwei Central.
He is expected to defend Ghana’s interests in Abuja and help to fortify the long-standing ties between the two West African nations as Ghana’s High Commissioner-designate to Nigeria.
In addition to encouraging trade, investment, cultural collaboration, and improved interpersonal links, his duties would involve interacting with Nigerian authorities on political, economic, and regional issues. With over twenty years of expertise in media, entertainment, communications, and entrepreneurship, Baba Sadiq is a qualified media and communications specialist.
The company behind 3Music TV and the 3Music Awards, 3Media Networks Limited, was founded by Sadiq, who also served as its CEO.
Prior to starting his own media companies, he was the founding director of Boomplay Ghana, where he established the local operations of the streaming platform and cultivated connections with African and Ghanaian content providers.

Additionally, he has worked for Viasat1 Ghana and Trace TV Ghana, among other high-level jobs in the entertainment and television sectors. He formed FulLCircL, a Pan-African entertainment agency, after co-founding Muse Africa.
His wealth of creative industry knowledge may offer Ghana another way to bolster cultural diplomacy and advance its creative economy in Nigeria.
The commissioning of the five envoys coincides with Ghana’s ongoing efforts to use its diplomatic missions as platforms for promoting investment, regional integration, economic cooperation, and Ghanaian interests overseas.
