New Majority Leader James Agalga Makes First Statement After Appointment

Newly appointed Majority Leader in Parliament, Hon. James Agalga, has expressed his appreciation to Ghanaians, President John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and members of the Majority Caucus for the confidence reposed in him following his elevation to the leadership position.

In a message expressing his gratitude on Facebook, Mr. Agalga said he was humbled by the congratulatory messages and support he had received from across the country.

He extended his appreciation to President Mahama, the leadership of the NDC, his colleagues in the Majority Caucus and the people of Builsa North, whom he represents in Parliament.

“I extend my sincere gratitude to all Ghanaians who have sent congratulatory messages,” he said.

Mr. Agalga also acknowledged the confidence placed in him by the governing party and the Ghanaian people, promising to work collaboratively with other members of Parliament to advance the government’s agenda.

“We remain committed to working together to drive the government’s RESET Agenda and to champion legislation that delivers real benefits to every Ghanaian,” he stated.

His message comes after his elevation to the position of Majority Leader, making him a key figure in the leadership of the governing side of Parliament.

As Majority Leader, Mr. Agalga is expected to play a central role in coordinating the activities of the Majority Caucus, helping to shape the legislative agenda of the government and working with members to advance proposed policies and legislation.

The Builsa North legislator has also called for unity and collective effort as the government seeks to implement its RESET Agenda, which remains a central pillar of the Mahama administration.

Concluding his message, Mr. Agalga reaffirmed his determination to remain committed to the cause, using the rallying phrase:

“Aluta continua, victoria acerta — the struggle continues, victory is certain.”

His appointment has generated congratulatory messages from supporters, political actors and members of the public, with expectations high for his role in steering the Majority Caucus and supporting the government’s legislative programme.
