Freda Oa has celebrated a major international achievement by Ghanaian skincare brand Kaeme, following its recognition as the DHL ESG Excellence Exporter of the Year in Dubai.
In a Facebook post, Oa said the award, presented on 13 August 2026, was about more than Kaeme as a company. She described it as recognition of the women and communities whose work has helped build a sustainable supply chain from Ghana’s mining regions to international markets.
According to Oa, Kaeme worked with women in Juaso and Bososo, two communities within Ghana’s mining belt, to establish a supply chain from the ground up.
She explained that the process involved developing formulations and recipes, providing Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) training, introducing quality standards and creating a reliable market for products produced by the women.
Oa noted that Kaeme’s role as a consistent buyer helped transform the women’s production into a dependable source of livelihood.
“The award is not really about Kaeme. It is about Juaso and Bososo, two towns in Ghana’s mining belt where we went and built a supply chain from scratch,” she wrote.
She highlighted the various stages of the initiative, including the development of formulations, recipes and quality-control systems, as well as training designed to help the communities meet the standards required for international markets.
According to her, the impact of the initiative can now be seen beyond Ghana, with products made through the community supply chain reaching consumers around the world.
“Today what those communities produce reaches customers across the world,” Oa stated.
The recognition in Dubai therefore represents a significant milestone not only for Kaeme but also for the women and local producers involved in its supply chain.
The achievement highlights how investment in local skills, quality standards and reliable markets can create opportunities for communities while connecting Ghanaian production to global consumers.
