Otumfuo’s Washington Meeting Opens New Investment Opportunities

The Washington engagement coincides with Ghana’s ongoing pursuit of greater foreign investment, broader trade alliances, and more robust international commercial ties

In an attempt to explore trade and investment prospects for Ghana and Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II met at a high level with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C.

Influential people from Ghana, the US, and the global business sector convened on August 31, 2026, to examine prospects that could strengthen economic relations and draw investment to Ghana.

The engagement highlights the Asantehene’s ongoing attempts to use his foreign engagements to build diplomatic and economic connections between Ghana and the United States while promoting Ghana as an appealing investment destination.

Among the notable individuals present at the gathering were Ghana’s Ambassador to the United States, Victor Smith; Kendra Gaither and Guevera Yao of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce; former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield; Kwabena Osei-Sarpong of RIFE International; Dr. Adjoa B. Asamoah of ABA Consulting; Ambassador Dr. Jendayi Frazer of 50 Ventures; Sarah Brenholt of Cargill; Michael Coyle of Peak Global Partners; and Victor Swami of Areva Pharmaceuticals.
