Political activist and commentator Kwabena Bomfeh has called for the resignation of Attorney-General and Minister for Justice Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, citing his handling of the ongoing legal standoff between the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) and the Attorney-General’s Department.
Speaking on Peace FM on Wednesday, April 22, the outspoken commentator — affectionately known as ‘Kabila’ — argued that Ayine’s conduct in the matter has been deeply compromising, and that his continued stay in office is untenable.
“He has clearly been compromised,” Bomfeh stated, adding that the situation is symptomatic of deeper governance and institutional failures within the country’s legal and prosecutorial framework.

Beyond the immediate controversy, Kabila accused the Attorney-General of acting in pursuit of personal interests rather than the public good — a charge that strikes at the heart of the independence and integrity expected of the office.
He further took aim at Ayine’s management of key provisions of the law establishing the OSP, questioning both his legal judgment and his commitment to upholding constitutional principles in matters of prosecution.
His remarks reflect growing public scrutiny over how the Attorney-General’s office has navigated its relationship with the Special Prosecutor — a tension that critics say risks undermining the integrity of Ghana’s anti-corruption architecture.
