Karex Berhad, the Malaysian firm behind the supply chain of some of the world’s most recognised condom brands, has confirmed it is considering raising prices by between 20% and 30%.
The company’s chief executive cited surging costs of key raw materials — including synthetic rubber, nitrile, silicone oil, and packaging inputs — compounded by persistent shipping delays and elevated freight charges, as the primary drivers behind the potential increase.
Company leadership has been candid about the bind it finds itself in, stating it has “no choice” but to transfer these additional costs to buyers should current conditions fail to improve.
