Engineer Kwabena Agyei Agyapong, a seasoned civil engineer and former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has been inaugurated as the Life Patron of the Artisans Association of Ghana (AAG) in recognition of his longstanding support for artisans and his commitment to skills development and national progress.
The inauguration ceremony brought together executives and members of the Artisans Association of Ghana, who praised Ing. Agyapong for his dedication to empowering craftsmen, promoting vocational excellence, and advocating for policies that strengthen the informal sector.
By conferring the honorary title of Life Patron, the Association acknowledged his consistent encouragement of artisans across the country and his belief in the vital role skilled tradespeople play in Ghana’s economic transformation.
In his acceptance remarks, Ing. Agyapong expressed gratitude to the Association for the honour, describing it as both a privilege and a responsibility. He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting artisans through advocacy, mentorship, and initiatives that enhance technical skills, entrepreneurship, and employment opportunities.

He emphasized that artisans remain the backbone of Ghana’s industrial and infrastructure development, stressing the need for greater investment in technical and vocational education, improved access to financing, and stronger partnerships between government and the private sector.
Leaders of the Artisans Association of Ghana expressed confidence that Ing. Agyapong’s experience in engineering, leadership, and public service would help advance the Association’s mission of promoting the welfare and professional growth of artisans nationwide.
