
The 8th American Black Film Festival (ABFF) Honors is set to honor Dwayne Johnson with the prestigious Entertainment Icon Award on Monday, February 16, 2026, at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.
Presented by NICE CROWD, this intimate, non-televised gala celebrates outstanding achievements in film, television, and broader entertainment, with a focus on trailblazers in Black storytelling and global impact.
The announcement, originally made on November 18, 2025, highlights Johnson’s remarkable career trajectory—from his roots as a WWE superstar to becoming one of Hollywood’s highest-grossing actors, producers, and global entertainers.
Organizers describe him as “the very definition of an entertainment icon,” praising his embodiment of perseverance, authenticity, charisma, boldness, creativity, and cultural influence.
Nice Crowd co-CEOs and presidents Jeff Friday and Nicole Friday stated:
“Dwayne Johnson is the very definition of an entertainment icon. From his trailblazing career in sports entertainment to his extraordinary success in film and television, he has become one of the most influential and beloved figures in global culture.”
Johnson himself expressed gratitude on social media (Instagram), posting:

The event will be hosted by comedian, New York Times best-selling author, and award-winning personality KevOnStage.
