Mariah Carey Teases New Album— Set For ‘Glitter’ Anniversary

Mariah Carey is keeping her fans busy. In a flurry of updates across mid-March 2026, the pop icon confirmed new music is in the works, hinted at a special celebration for one of her most storied projects, and responded to yet another landmark career recognition.

Speaking in an interview on March 13, Carey confirmed she is actively recording new material in the studio, sending her devoted fanbase — affectionately known as “Lambs” — into a frenzy of anticipation.

The news comes on the heels of her 2025 album ‘Here for It All’, suggesting the prolific artist has no intention of slowing down.

Carey also revealed plans to mark the 25th anniversary of ‘Glitter’, her 2001 film and accompanying soundtrack. Originally released on September 21, 2001, the project had a turbulent debut but has since earned cult status among fans and pop culture enthusiasts alike. A deluxe reissue or special edition is reportedly in the works, with Carey expressing genuine excitement about giving the project a fresh chapter it perhaps never got the first time around.

Adding to the celebratory mood, Carey reacted warmly on March 14 to news of her third consecutive nomination for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame — the 2026 nominees having been announced in late February. She described induction as “an unchecked box” in her career, saying it felt wonderful to see her name on the list once again and voicing hopes that this could finally be her year.

With 19 number-one hits to her name and an influence that has shaped decades of popular music, few would argue the case against her.
