Media entrepreneur and Forbes Africa executive Peace Hyde has been named a Power Broker by Rolling Stone, in recognition of her contributions to journalism, media, and philanthropy through her nonprofit, Aim Higher Africa.
Announcing the honour on Facebook, Hyde expressed deep gratitude, noting that she never takes such acknowledgements lightly. She described one of the most fulfilling parts of her career as the opportunity to put Africa’s talent and achievements in front of a global audience.
Hyde pointed to the impact of Young, Famous & African, the Netflix reality series she created and executive produces, as central to that mission. She said the show has played a major role in changing how people outside the continent view Africa, particularly by spotlighting its luxury, culture, and everyday reality.
“Young, Famous & African completely re-positioned the perception of Africa for non-Africans. Showing our luxury, culture, and reality to the world is so humbling and surreal,” she wrote.
Hyde also extended thanks to Rolling Stone for placing her among a group of influential African executives recognised in the same list, including Tim Yaw Struthers, Dorothy Ghettuba Pala, and Touria El Glaoui.

She closed her message with a rallying call, urging fellow leaders to become “braver seat fillers, glass breakers, door holders, and table builders,” and reminding her audience that everyone is on this journey together.
The honour adds to a growing list of international accolades for Hyde and reinforces her standing as one of the leading voices shaping African storytelling and media representation on the world stage.
