Mr. Nana Yaw Amoah-Yeboah has been formally appointed as the new Director-General of the National Information Technology Agency (NITA), replacing Dr. Mark-Oliver Kevor, by Hon. Samuel Nartey George (MP), Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations.
Sam George praised Dr. Kevor for his devoted work and important contributions to NITA’s transformation, especially in bolstering the National Data Center and promoting important digital government projects.
Amoah-Yeboah takes office at a critical juncture as the Ghanaian government gets ready to enact significant changes in the digital industry.
Hon. Sam George further revealed that by separating the Agency’s commercial and regulatory activities, the new NITA Act, if approved by Parliament, will provide a better governance and regulatory structure.
In an effort to protect public assets, increase accountability, and boost operational effectiveness, the Minister also declared that all payments pertaining to NITA-managed infrastructure will now be sent directly to the Agency.
This efficient rule will safeguard Ghana’s growing financial and digital economy while promoting innovation.

Samuel Nartey George welcomed Mr. Amoah-Yeboah as the new Director-General, describing him as a seasoned IT professional with over 10 years of experience in the field, including substantial work on government digital transformation projects.
NITA’s board chairman, Ms. Estelle Akofio-Sowah, also voiced confidence in Mr. Amoah-Yeboah’s capacity to guide the organization through its upcoming expansion. She encouraged him to use NITA’s personnel skills to further Ghana’s digital transformation agenda and reassured him of the Board’s unwavering support.
Mr. Nana Yaw Amoah-Yeboah, the recently appointed Director General, also thanked the Minister and the Government for their faith in him. In order to build on NITA’s accomplishments and realize the government’s vision of a safe, creative, and digitally inclusive public service, he promised to collaborate closely with the Board, Management, and employees.
