Broadcaster Omanhene Kwabena Asante has cautioned the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) against taking pride in the claim that its administration has recorded no scandal or corruption since assuming office.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, Omanhene Kwabena Asante argued that the government should not become complacent, particularly when some individuals within the administration could be undermining its reputation.
According to him, there are “bad nuts” within the government whose actions are capable of staining President John Dramani Mahama’s Reset Agenda.
He maintained that while the NDC may seek to project an image of a clean administration, the conduct of certain individuals could eventually become a major source of embarrassment for the government if decisive action is not taken.

Omanhene Kwabena Asante therefore urged the NDC leadership to pay closer attention to activities within its own ranks and identify those whose conduct could damage the government’s credibility.
He warned that the administration could be in for a shock if it fails to “fish out” individuals responsible for actions that are inconsistent with the government’s stated commitment to good governance and accountability.
His comments come amid growing public scrutiny of the Mahama administration and calls for the government to ensure that its Reset Agenda is not undermined by the conduct of individuals within its ranks.
Omanhene Kwabena Asante’s position, in essence, is that the absence of a major scandal does not necessarily mean there are no problems within an administration—and that the NDC must remain vigilant if it wants to maintain public confidence in its government.
