Tyler Perry Adds A $30 Million Puerto Rico Mansion To His Property Portfolio

Tyler Perry, the American filmmaker, actor, screenwriter, playwright and businessman, is setting up a new base in the Caribbean. The entertainment mogul has reportedly acquired a luxury estate in Puerto Rico, and it looks like his latest move could be as much about business as it is about leisure.

The purchase builds on one of the most remarkable real estate stories in Hollywood. Perry previously bought a sprawling 330-acre section of Fort McPherson, a former U.S. Army base in Atlanta, Georgia, that once carried the name of a Confederate general. He converted that land into Tyler Perry Studios, now one of the largest and most recognized production complexes in the country. Having turned a piece of Confederate-linked history into a thriving creative hub, he is now extending his footprint beyond the American mainland.

According to reports, the new Puerto Rico residence carries a price tag of $30 million. The home spans 14,475 square feet and sits on nearly 1.4 acres of land. It was built in 2021 and is located inside a gated community on the island, offering the kind of privacy and security that high-profile owners typically look for.

The property includes five bedrooms and ten bathrooms, along with a private movie theater, an open-concept kitchen, a swimming pool and a fully equipped gym. Reports indicate the house is already move-in ready.

On a personal level, the estate is expected to serve as Perry’s retreat whenever he travels to Puerto Rico, a place to unwind after long, demanding days of work. But rest is only part of the plan. Sources say Perry intends to shoot some of his projects on the island, and he is also reportedly opening a production house there.

The size of the home is said to be generous enough to meet the practical needs of those productions, whether that means hosting meetings, housing key personnel or serving as a working base during shoots.

With the Atlanta studio complex already a cornerstone of his empire, the Puerto Rico property signals that Perry’s ambitions are widening, pairing a luxurious island hideaway with the possibility of a new production hub in the Caribbean.
