Renowned Ghanaian broadcast journalist, Israel Laryea, is making a highly anticipated return to television after spending several years away from the screen.
The former television presenter announced his comeback in a post shared on Facebook, expressing gratitude to the many viewers who have consistently asked when he would return to broadcasting.
“For everyone who kept asking, ‘When are you coming back to TV?’ — tomorrow, I finally have an answer,” he wrote.
Laryea revealed that during his time away from television, he focused on building a career in influencer marketing and business, experiences he says have broadened his understanding of entrepreneurship, digital media, and the opportunities available to ordinary people willing to take initiative.
“After stepping away for a while to build in the world of influencer marketing and business, I’m returning to where many of you first got to know me: television,” he stated.
The journalist emphasized that he is returning with a renewed perspective shaped by years of practical experience outside traditional media. “But I’m not coming back the same person who left,” he noted.
According to him, this new outlook will influence the discussions and conversations he plans to lead on the flagship breakfast programme of myjoyonline.com.
“My focus is simple: exploring how we, as citizens, can contribute to building a better Ghana while also improving our own individual circumstances. Because national progress and personal progress should go hand in hand,” he explained.
Laryea also acknowledged the challenge of balancing a television career with running an influencer marketing agency. However, he believes the convergence of traditional media and digital platforms presents significant opportunities for growth and innovation.
“Managing a television career alongside an influencer marketing agency won’t be without its challenges, but I see tremendous opportunities in bridging traditional media and new media for the benefit of both,” he said.
His return has generated excitement among followers, colleagues, and viewers who have long awaited his reappearance on television.
