
Jordan Jones, a former college football star and professional indoor football player, has died after being shot outside a bar in Acworth, Georgia, in the US on Saturday, March 7.
According to the Acworth Police Department, officers responded to the scene and found Jones suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite receiving aid at the scene, he later died from his injuries at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta.
Investigators determined that Jones was working as a security guard at the bar when he intervened to break up a fight involving 25-year-old Daniel Di Vonne Parsons. Parsons allegedly retrieved a firearm and shot Jones. He has since been arrested and charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, and aggravated battery.
Jones built an impressive football career that began at Mountain View High School before continuing at the University of West Alabama, where he amassed 211 total tackles, 17 sacks, five forced fumbles, and one interception.

He went on to play professionally in the Indoor Football League with the Tulsa Oilers and San Antonio Gunslingers, and had been set to join the Michigan Arsenal of the Arena Football One League for the upcoming season.
