Fast forward, President John Dramani Mahama and Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang on Thursday July 30, led a solemn ceremony at the Jubilee House to present compensation packages to the families of the eight people who lost their lives on August 6, 2025.
The event, held on behalf of the Government and the people of Ghana, served as a moment of remembrance, reflection, and national solidarity with the bereaved families whose loved ones died while serving the country.
In his address, President Mahama expressed the nation's deepest condolences, describing the victims as dedicated patriots whose commitment to national duty would never be forgotten. He acknowledged that while no amount of financial compensation could replace the lives lost or erase the pain endured by the families, the gesture symbolized the government's unwavering support and appreciation for their sacrifice.
Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang also paid tribute to the victims, urging the families to remain strong despite the difficult journey of loss. She assured them that the government would continue to honour the memory of those who died in the line of duty.

The compensation packages were presented individually to representatives of each of the eight bereaved families in an emotional ceremony attended by senior government officials, military commanders, clergy, and close relatives of the deceased.
