After Columbia shocked the Black Stars with, they were eliminated in the round of 32. Ghana’s Sports Minister gave the team encouragement and admiration shortly after they exited.
Minister Kofi Adams advised the Black Stars to keep their attention on future tasks and take lessons from current 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign.
Despite their elimination, Adams commended the team’s effort and said the Black Stars of Ghana had what it takes to compete in every World Cup and get past the group stages.
Despite being the tournament’s underdogs, Ghana performed incredibly well. Adams says Ghana did well on the field, and he is very proud of the team.
The Minister urged the players to learn from their mistakes during the competition.
”What we need is for the few mistakes we made to serve as a platform for our collective learning. You should not be dampened by it.
Hon. Adams reminded the players that their national duty continues with the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers, echoing Coach Carlos Queiroz’s team-first ethic.

Regarding the public’s response to the team’s exit, in the round of 32, he also had a message for the players.
”The nation is appreciative of our efforts. Whatever circumstance led us to this point, let us draw lessons from it. I am sure that everyone who enjoys using social media will see a variety of posts, analyses, and criticisms when we exited”.
”You are professional ballers, so please, please. No one should be deterred by such remarks. If anything, it ought to inspire you to work harder. Those who are observing will conduct their own analysis. Do not allow it to depress any of you. It ought to inspire you to improve yourself.
